Rampur, Oct. 12 -- Senior Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan, recently released from jail, has had his Y-category security cover restored in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district.

Khan was released from Sitapur jail 20 days ago after spending nearly 23 months in prison. Sources said hundreds of people are arriving in Rampur daily to meet the leader, prompting the administration to tighten security measures in anticipation of large crowds.

A senior police officer here today confirmed: "Azam Khan's Y-category security was restored on Friday evening.
