Rampur, Nov. 17 -- A Special MP-MLA court here on Monday dealt a major blow to Samajwadi Party leader Mohamnad Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam by sentencingthem seven years of jail in the fake PAN card case.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on them. Following the verdict, police detained Azam Khan and Abdullah in the courtroom.
Special Judge Shobhit Bansal delivered the verdict after reviewing documentary evidence, bank records, and the testimony of income tax officials.
This court verdict is one of 104 cases filed against Azam Khan. So far, the court has delivered verdicts in 12 cases. Azam Khan has been convicted in seven of these cases, while he has been acquitted in five.
