Lucknow, July 23 -- Politics in Uttar Pradesh heated up today following a reported meeting held by Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav inside a mosque near Parliament House in Delhi on Tuesday.

Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya hit out at the SP chief saying the party always violated the Constitution. "The Indian Constitution says we cannot use religious places for political purposes. They do not believe in the Constitution; they always remain Namaazwadi."

On July 22, a meeting was reportedly held in a mosque attended by many leaders, including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Photos of the meeting have been shared on social media.
