Firozabad (UP), May 7 -- Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Brajesh Pathak on Wednesday described the Waqf Amendment Act as in the interest of poor and needy Muslims and alleged the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress, which do vote bank politics, have only cheated the Muslims.
The Deputy CM said the management system of Waqf has been very weak, in which there has been almost no accountability. "For this reason, the Waqf Act 2025 has been made, so that the governance of Waqf can be streamlined. Serious issues like triple talaq have nothing to do with Islam. Congress and SP link all these issues to Islam for vote bank politics and have been misleading the Muslim community till date," he alleged.
