Nagpur, Dec. 12 -- The ongoing crisis over soybean procurement in Nanded and Yavatmal districts sparked sharp exchanges in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Friday, after Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar levelled serious allegations against officials attached to state ministers.
Raising the issue through a Point of Information, Wadettiwar claimed that farmers had reported a demand of Rs 3 lakh to activate soybean procurement centers.
He alleged that the demand was made by ministerial OSDs Abhijit Patil and Garje and further claimed that a private individual in Beed district was collecting the money.
