Shimla, Sept. 26 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, has announced the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from the entire state of Himachal Pradesh.

The monsoon entered the state on June 20, 2025, covering all regions by June 24, 2025, a day earlier than the usual date of June 25.

Earlier, parts of Himachal Pradesh had already seen the monsoon retreat on September 24, 2025, and by today, the monsoon has officially withdrawn from the entire state, just one day later than the normal withdrawal.

The IMD data indicates that the 2025 monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh lasted just over three months. A look at the past ten years shows variability in the monsoon onset and withdrawal dates in the state.
