Shimla, June 21 -- The southwest monsoon system has become active across most of Himachal Pradesh, triggering moderate to heavy rain, flight disruptions, landslides, and a sharp dip in temperatures.

Low-lying clouds and thick fog have drastically reduced visibility across hill towns and airports.

Flights to the state's key airports, including Shimla's Jubberhatti, remained suspended for the third consecutive day. "Visibility has been extremely low due to dense cloud cover and monsoon activity," an official at Shimla Airport confirmed. The disruptions have left several passengers stranded and impacted connectivity to the state.
