Hubballi, April 28 -- Candidates wearing metallic religious symbols, bangles, ornaments, mangal sutra, bracelets and similar items will be allowed inside the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examination halls after proper frisking, the South Western Railway (SWR) clarified on Monday.

A suitable endorsement will be made on the candidates' call letters, and invigilators will be instructed to remain extra vigilant, SWR said in a statement issued here, referring to a directive from the Railway Board.

The clarification comes following widespread media coverage and concerns over restrictions at RRB examination centres and their potential impact on religious sentiments.
