Johannesburg, Aug. 12 -- South Africa will present a revised trade proposal to the United States in an effort to reverse the 30 per cent tariff Washington imposed on South African exports earlier this month, the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) today.

"Cabinet has approved that South Africa submits a revised offer as the basis for negotiations with the US," the DTIC said in a statement. The plan responds to issues raised in the US 2025 National Trade Estimates Report and builds on an initial proposal submitted in May.
