Ranchi, March 21 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday participated in Sarhul celebrations at two locations in the state capital and stressed the importance of nature, tribal traditions and cultural continuity.
Accompanied by MLA Kalpana Soren, the Chief Minister attended the festival at the Adivasi College hostel campus in Karamtoli and later at the Sarna Sthal in Sirmatoli, where he offered prayers following traditional rituals.
At the Sarna site, rituals were performed by a pahan, who placed a sal flower behind the Chief Minister's ear, symbolising the bond between nature and human life.
Addressing gatherings, Soren said nature is the source of creation and its protection is essential for human existence.
