Sonu Nigam booked for remark on Kannada song
Bengaluru, May 2 -- A formal police complaint was on Friday filed against noted playback singer Sonu Nigam after his controversial remarks at a live concert in Bengaluru appeared to link a fan's Kannada song request to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident occurred during a performance at East Point College in Virgonagar on Thursday evening, when a fan requested Nigam to sing a Kannada song. Perceiving the request as aggressive, Nigam responded on stage stating, "I had started singing Kannada songs even before he was born," and controversially added, "This is why the Pahalgam attack happened - for such kind of an attitude."
