Meerut, March 29 -- In a shocking incident in Akbarpur Garhi colony of Hastinapur, Meerut, a man allegedly strangled his mother to death following a minor dispute.
The accused, identified as Sanjay Das, reportedly killed his 55-year-old mother, Nirmala Devi, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the argument began when Nirmala Devi scolded her son over a trivial matter on Saturday evening.
In a fit of rage, Sanjay allegedly strangled her until she died. After committing the crime, he remained seated beside the body and misled neighbors by claiming that his mother had died of a heart attack.
