Jaunpur, Dec. 16 -- A local youth allegedly murdered his parents and dumped their bodies into the Gomti river in an atempt to destroy evidence, police said on Tuesday.
The crime came to light on Monday evening after the accused, who had been missing since the incident, was arrested by the police and confessed during interrogation.
The police identified the suspect as Ambesh Kumar, a resident of Ahmadpur Chhavani Gauriyana village. His father, Shyam Bahadur, was a retired railway loco pilot. Police said Ambesh was arrested near his village on Monday.
