Solapur, Sept. 21 -- Daily flight service between Solapur and Mumbai will commence on October 15, ending four months of discussions. Ticket sales for the new route began on September 20, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis scheduled to inaugurate the service.

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol described the new service as a "double gift" to Solapur during Navratri, saying it reflects the city's continuous progress.

The project was approved after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis granted Viability Gap Funding (VGF), clearing the final hurdle for the launch.
