Kolkata, Oct. 5 -- Even as Darjeeling reeled under incessant rainfall and landslides, in a contrasting picture in East Sikkim today, for the first time this season, Nathu La witnessedsnowfall, transforming the region into a white wonderland.
According to local administration sources, snowfall began in Nathu La from Sunday morning. Within hours, roads, rooftops, and trees were covered under a thick blanket of snow.
Tourists, who were making their way through the high-altitude Himalayan pass, had to frequently halt their vehicles due to the slippery snow-covered roads.
