Kolkata, Feb. 28 -- The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMPK-formerly Kolkata Port) on Friday hosted a high-level meeting with other major ports of India to exchange ideas for better usage of land for commercial purposes and stopping encroachment, official sources said.

"Roadmap for using land assets and port-led industrialisation, roadmap for resolution of issues and further discussion improving governance and policy for land allotment by Ports (was) held focusing on land, assets, and port-led industrialisation," they said.

SMPK Chairman Rathendra Raman presided over the meeting in which Dr. R. P. Kondiram, Deputy Director General of Shipping. estate managers of all major ports officials attended. UNI PC BD SSP
