Kolkata, Sept. 2 -- Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, today reported a record cargo handling with a growth of 16.02 percent during the period of April to August 2025.
The port handled a total of 28.236 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) of cargo, an increased from the 24.337 MMT handled during the same period in 2024.
This impressive performance is a result of outstanding contributions from both its dock systems: Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) and Kolkata Dock System(KDS), port chairman Ratendra Raman said.
