Canberra, Nov. 12 -- A Qantas flight from South Australia (SA) to the national capital of Canberra was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing shortly after take-off on Wednesday morning due to smoke in the cabin.
Flight QF1972 turned around and landed back at Adelaide Airport shortly after taking off at 6:10 a.m. local time on Wednesday following a declaration from pilots requesting priority landing when crew noticed smoke in the cabin, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
A spokesperson for Qantas said that the E190 aircraft landed safely back in Adelaide and would be examined by engineers before returning to service.
