Kolkata, Sept. 28 -- Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, has adopted Satyadaspur, a remote fishing village in the Sundarbans, for sustained multi-pronged community development for enhancing the socio-economic landscape of the marginalized inhabitants in South 24 Parganas.

Satyadaspur, about 128 kms from Kolkata, faces severe constraints in socio-economic development due to its remote location. It is accessible only after an hour-long 20-kilometer boat journey through the Gangetic delta and mangrove forests, after an 108 km journey by road.
