Kangra, Nov. 4 -- The sluggish pace of construction work on the Kachhiyari-Shimla four-lane highway has caused severe inconvenience to commuters, raising serious questions about the functioning of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Frequent traffic jams on the Palampur-Pathankot National Highway have turned short journeys into hours-long ordeals. A similar situation prevails on the Matour-Shimla National Highway, where increasing vehicular pressure has made the completion of the four-lane project essential- yet the snail-paced work continues to trouble drivers.
