Colombo (Sri Lanka), March 24 -- The Sri Lanka Navy seized a smuggled stock of cardamom, shampoo and cosmetic cream packets from a dinghy and arrested three persons at Thalvupadu beach in Mannar on Sunday.
In a statement, the Sri Lanka Navy on Monday said it conducts patrols and search operations in the coastal areas of the Island to prevent the influx of illegal items which affect the socio economic stability and security of the country.
In continuation of these efforts, the personnel of Sri Lankan Navy Ship (SLNS) 'Gajaba' attached to the North Central Naval Command during a search operation, inspected a suspicious dinghy at the Thalvupadu beach and recovered a stock of 402.200 kg of cardamom, 3781 shampoo packets and 51 packets of cosm...
