Seoul, March 10 -- North Korea has conducted a launch of several ballistic missiles, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Monday.

"Our military on Monday at around 13:50 [04:50 GMT] recorded the launch of several unidentified ballistic missiles toward west from inside North Korea's Hwanghae Province," the military said in a statement.

South Korea's military has increased "surveillance and control," maintains full combat readiness, and works closely with the US military, the statement added.
