Seoul, July 30 -- South Korean Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol will hold tariff negotiations with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in Washington on July 31, in what is expected to be the final round of talks before the August 1 deadline, after which 25% tariffs will take effect, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported on Wednesday, citing Koo's office.

South Korean officials are conducting urgent negotiations to secure reduced tariff rates and mitigate impact on the export-dependent economy. On Tuesday, Koo, alongside South Korean Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan and Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo, held a two-hour meeting with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
