Hyderabad, July 3 -- Leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and central trade unions have called for a nationwide strike on July 9 to protest the Modi government's "anti-farmer, anti-labour and anti-people" policies.
Addressing a press conference at Basheerbagh Press Club, senior SKM leader and former MP Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao, along with other SKM Telangana leaders, alleged that the Centre is pushing agriculture into corporate control by ignoring demands for legal MSP, removing it from the National Agricultural Market Policy (NPFAM), and weakening price protection mechanisms.
