Puri, June 8 -- Sri Jagannath temple Chief Administrator Aravinda Kumar Padhee on Sunday appealed to the Odisha government to impose restrictions on the height of construction of buildings around the parikrama corridor of the Srimandir and around the Gundicha temple for security reasons and to lay down norms to maintain a spiritual scenario of nearby areas.

In a letter to the state Urban and Housing Department, Padhee stated that multi-storied buildings are being constructed close to the Parikrama of the Sri Jagannath temple and the Gundicha temple. The height of these constructions is going several meters above the temple Maghanad Prachir and the Guindicha temple, posing a threat to the temples and their devotees.
