Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- The kidneys of a six-year-old boy, who was declared brain dead following an accident, were donated to two hospitals in Bhubaneswar on Monday, offering hope to two children in need of transplants.

The child had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury after a heavy iron gate fell on him in Baripada. He was initially treated at a hospital in Balasore and was later transferred to SUM Ultimate Medicare on May 7. Despite the medical team's best efforts, his condition did not improve.
