Guwahati, July 31 -- The Kaziranga National Park authority has instituted an inquiry committee to investigate the reported deaths of six wild buffaloes, which occurred in the Mona Beel area inside the park, National Park director Sonali Ghosh said today.
Sonali Ghosh said that the carcasses of the six wild buffaloes were spotted by forest staff during a regular patrolling yesterday.
"The staff of Mona Tongi detected the carcasses of six wild buffaloes (four female and two male) lying together in Mona Beel under the Kaziranga Range, Kohora," she said, adding that a committee was formed to investigate the incident and conduct post-mortems to determine the cause of death.
