Beirut, April 25 -- Six people were killed on April 24 in southern Lebanon as a result of Israeli airstrikes, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center on Saturday.

In a statement quoted by the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), the center said: "Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon on April 24 led to the deaths of six citizens and left two others injured."Israeli troops and Hezbollah fighters continued to target each other throughout Friday, a day after a three-week extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was announced. Each side has since blamed the other for violating the ceasefire.
