Chennai, Nov. 24 -- In a tragic incident, six people were killed and 60others, including children, injured when two private buses collided in thesouthern Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu on Monday, even as Chief MinisterM K Stalin condoled their deaths and announced Rs three lakh solatiumto the deceased families.
Police sources said the deceased included five women.
When contacted by UNI earlier, sources at the police headquarters heresaid eight people were killed in the mishap. However, Mr Stalin, in a pressrelease, while offering his condolences, said six people were killed in thecollission that took place at Idaikaal village near Kadayanallur on theThirumangalam-Kollam National Highway at 1100 hrs.
