Chennai, Feb. 5 -- Six workers were injured in a fire accident at
a Cracker manufacturing unit in the southern Virudhunagar district of
Tamil Nadu on Wednesday afternoon.
There were no casualties so far.
The condition of one of the injured workers was said to be critical as
he suffered extensive burns.
Reports received at the State Police Control room here confirmed the
mishap and said there were no casualties.
According to reporters, the injured included four women.
The injured were admitted to Sattur, Sivakasi and Virudhunagar
government hospitals.
The fire occurred due to friction while filling chemicals for making fancy
crackers at Sathyaprabhu Fireworks unit near R.R.Nagar in the district.
