Hyderabad, Oct. 19 -- Six persons were feared drowned after a car plunged into Nagarjunasagar left canal near Chakirla village of Nadigudem Mandal in Telangana on Friday night.

However the car was traced in the canal on Saturday morning.

According to police, the six occupants are staff of Ankura Hospital for Women and Children at A S Rao Nagar, here.

The incident occurred at 2030 hours last night when they were returning to Hyderabad after attending a marriage at Nandigama .

The NDRF teams who are on a rescue operation found the vehicle at 250 meters away from the plunged point.

They are making efforts to retrieve the vehicle from the canal, which was full to the brim, police added. UNI VV CS 1150
