Kolkata, April 8 -- Acting on a tip-off received through the emergency 100 dial service, police recovered six crude bombs from a residence in the Minakhan area of North 24 Parganas district, raising fresh security concerns ahead of the elections.

According to sources in the police, the information was reported on Monday by a local resident, Chapiya Bibi, wife of Ahed Halder, from Kumarjole village.

She alerted authorities after noticing suspicious objects resembling crude bombs in a chicken shed located beside her kitchen, within the boundary wall of her residence.

Police team immediately rushed to the spot and confirmed the presence of six crude bombs.
