Patna, June 28 -- The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has started in Bihar for verifying the eligibility of each elector for the upcoming state assembly election due later this year.
Election Commission sources said here today that the SIR has been taken up with full participation of all political parties. Out of the existing 7,89,69,844 electors, 4.96 crore electors, whose names were already in the last intensive revision of electoral roll on January 1, 2003 have to simply verify and fill the enumeration form, sources said.
According to sources, door-to-door distribution of new Enumeration Forms (EF) for all the existing 7,89,69,844 electors of the state has already started in each of the 243 Assembly constituencies of the state. Online...
