Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 19 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday sounded a strong warning over what he described as an alarming and unjustified exclusion of nearly 25 lakh voters from the draft electoral roll prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in the state.
In a sharply worded statement, the Chief Minister said the deletions extend well beyond routine categories such as the deceased, those who have permanently relocated, duplicate entries and untraceable voters.
He expressed particular concern over large-scale removals under the ambiguous label of "others", noting that even the Election Commission lacks clarity on who is being placed in this category.
