Hyderabad, Jan. 6 -- Coal sales of the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) have been adversely affected due to private companies supplying coal at lower prices, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka told the Assembly on Tuesday. Highlighting Singareni's significance as the largest public sector undertaking in Telangana, employing thousands of youth, the Deputy Chief Minister said protecting the organisation is a shared responsibility of employees, public representatives, and society.
During the discussion on Singareni in the Assembly, Bhatti expressed concern over coal block auctions under the Centre's policy, which have facilitated the entry of private players into the sector.
