In a 75 minute battle World no 1 Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan thrashed Sindhu 21-16, 24-26, 21-17 to book a place in semi-finals.
With Sindhu's loss, India's campaign in the women's singles comes to an end. This is Sindhu's 11th defeat against Ying from 16 matches.
