New Delhi, Dec. 23 -- Days after Dipu Chandra Das was lynched by a mob amid recent unrest, the Centre for Democracy, Pluralism and Human Rights has called for an independent investigation into the incident, and demanded accountability for those responsible, including alleged perpetrators and enablers of the crime.

The Centre has called upon governments, international institutions, and civil society to unequivocally condemn the lynching of Das, a 25-year-old Hindu garment factory worker from Bhaluka in Bangladesh's Mymensingh district.

It has also demanded for an independent investigations and accountability for perpetrators and those who enable them.
