Gangtok, Sept. 25 -- The Government of Sikkim has officially announced that the high-altitude passes of Doka-La and Cho-La will be open for domestic tourists starting October 1, 2025.

This initiative is part of the state government's efforts to promote tourism while supporting sustainable livelihoods in border areas.

Only Indian citizens holding valid voter IDs will be allowed to visit these scenic destinations.

To manage the flow of tourists and ensure proper monitoring, visitors must obtain permits issuedby the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department through registered tour operators.

The permit fee is set at Rs. 1,120 per person, covering entry to wildlife sanctuaries and a contribution to the Tsomgo Pokhari Sangrakshan Samiti.
