Gangtok, Sept. 19 -- The Sikkim Hotels & Restaurant Association (SHRA) has voiced its concerns over the state government's plan to implement the Sikkim Tourism Development Fund (STDF) from October 1, urging authorities to adopt a more practical and technology-driven approach.

A SHRA delegation, led by members including, Lakpha Moktan, met the Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation at his residence today. The discussion focused on the concerns raised during the September 15 meeting and the department's directive to roll out STDF immediately. While SHRA expressed its full support for the fund in principle, it highlighted several challenges faced by hotels and restaurants in implementing the current collection system.
