Gangtok, July 30 -- The Government of Sikkim today officially declared August 10 of every year as "Aama Samman Diwas" to honour and celebrate the love, sacrifices and contributions of mothers.
Aama means mother in Nepali language
This decision was announced through a notification issued by the Home Department of the Government of Sikkim on July 30. The announcement recognizes the important and irreplaceable role mothers play in shaping the lives of children and by extension, the entire society.
