Gangtok, May 30 -- Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Tamang on Friday expressed his grief over the accident in which 11 tourists who were in a car rolled down to the river Teesta last night in north Sikkim.

A latest report said one body was recovered this morning.

Sources said, among others, Isita Jena, a BJP Mahila Morcha leader from Odisha, her husband, and two sons were missing. Isita belonged to the Jajpur district of Odisha.

The Odisha government has deputed two government officials to keep in touch with their counterparts in Sikkim to get updates on the rescue operation, which was in progress.

As per the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chungthang, some rescuers have now reached the submerged tourist vehicle in Teesta.
