Srinagar, March 25 -- All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) on Tuesday opposed the government order seeking construction of a modern abbatoir in the Aloochi Bagh area of the Srinagar city.
The Committee has appealed to the government to look for an alternate site for the construction of the abbatoir.
J&K government recently accorded administrative approval to the "construction of a modern abattoir at Alochi Bagh, Srinagar, under EPC mode at an estimated cost of Rs. 3167 lacs, under Capex Budget.
Reacting to development APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina in a statement said that the area selected for the construction of the modern abbatoir would hurt the sentiments of the minority community.
