Siddaramaiah urges Maha CM to release water for North Karnataka
Bengaluru, April 1 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis, requesting to release water from Warna/Koyna and Ujjani reservoirs to mitigate drinking water shortages in North Karnataka.
In his letter, Siddaramaiah highlighted the severe water scarcity affecting Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Yadgir and Raichur districts since the beginning of March.
He acknowledged Maharashtra's past cooperation in releasing water during previous summers and expressed gratitude for the same.
