Udupi, Sept. 21 -- Former Karnataka Minister and senior BJP leader Sunil Kumar today launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of trying to portray himself as the 'Pope of Karnataka' through the state's hastily conducted caste survey.
Addressing a press conference here, Sunil Kumar said Siddaramaiah had earlier engaged in politics "under the cloak of Tipu Sultan" and was now attempting to position himself as the 'Pope of Karnataka' to win support from the Christian community. "This move is dividing society and has reduced the government to a puppet in the hands of clerics," he alleged.
