Siddaramaiah to push for two defence corridors in Delhi meeting with Rajnath Singh
Bengaluru, July 8 -- In a major push to bolster Karnataka's position in the aerospace and defence sector, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Industries Minister MB Patil are to meet with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tomorrow evening to formally request the establishment of two defence corridors in the state.
Highlighting Karnataka's 65% contribution to India's aerospace and defence output, Patil said the state "rightfully deserves" corridors both in southern (Kolar-Chikkaballapura) and northern (Hubballi-Belagavi) regions. "We are not asking for what belongs to others. We are demanding what Karnataka has earned," Patil told reporters before leaving for the national capital.
