Bengaluru, Jan. 2 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said that an Election Commission survey was being selectively interpreted to create a misleading narrative aimed at dismissing concerns raised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on alleged electoral malpractice.
In a detailed statement, Siddaramaiah clarified that the survey in question was not a political opinion poll but an end-line administrative evaluation conducted under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
Commissioned by the Election Commission of India and carried out in May 2025, the survey was meant to assess voter awareness initiatives and not to certify the integrity of electoral processes, he said.
