Bengaluru, Sept. 12 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today proposed renaming the upcoming Shivajinagar metro station in Bengaluru after St. Mary.

The announcement was made during the annual feast at St. Mary's Basilica, located around 200 meters from the station.

Siddaramaiah emphasised that the state government has merely forwarded the proposal to the government of India for approval.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar supported the initiative, suggesting that responding to community requests is appropriate.
