Bagalkote, March 31 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday exuded confidence in the Congress party's prospects in the Bagalkote Assembly bypoll, asserting that the party is witnessing "unexpectedly strong" public support across the constituency.

Campaigning for Congress candidate Umesh Meti, the Chief Minister said the political atmosphere in the region is favourable to the party and reflected growing public backing during the ongoing outreach programmes.
