Bengaluru, Dec. 9 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday urged the union Government to immediately approve Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement of Toor Dal, warning that procedural delays at the Centre were pushing lakhs of farmers towards distress sales ahead of peak market arrivals.

In a detailed letter addressed to the union Government, Siddaramaiah said he was writing with "grave urgency and rising alarm" on behalf of Toor Dal growers whose economic stability was coming under "avoidable and unjustifiable risk" due to delayed approval for procurement.
