Bengaluru, June 13 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, urging immediate intervention to support mango farmers in the state who are reeling under severe financial distress following a steep fall in market prices.

In his letter, Siddaramaiah expressed deep concern over the sharp decline in prices of the Totapuri mango variety, a major horticultural crop in the state. He said the price crash has rendered mango cultivation unviable, leaving farmers unable to recover even basic input costs.
